Nursery: Part 1

I thought I would begin posting about our developing nursery. We are using Noah's Ark as our theme. It's a little bit different coloring with darker colors (i.e. brick red) instead of pastels or brights. If you are familiar with Boyd's Bears then you will recognize a lot of this nursery. They had a Noah's Ark set a couple years back that I collected and have since become the inspiration for this nursery. You can see the afghan on the rocker. Here is a pic of our new glider/rocker chair (thanks to grandma and grandpa LaBarge) and our dresser/changing table (thanks to grandma Majeski). I will continue to post more as we work a little at a time on this new room in our home. This is soooooo much fun!

she's moving!!!!

So, I've been feeling her move since mid December but last night she was soooooo active and Dave got to feel her nudge his hand on my belly for the first time last night! How cool is that?! She seems to be picking up in her movements but I think it's just that she is a little bit bigger now. She is probably around 11 inches now. She moves mostly in the evening. I love knowing she's there! So far, no uncomfortable elbows being thrown :)

It's a girl!!!!

Today was our 20 week ultrasound. It was very obvious from the very beginning that it was a little girl :) We both were a little suprised. One of Dave's first responses was "Great, now we'll have to pay for a wedding!" I thought that was pretty funny! We are both excited to see our little girl. Check out the photos... you can even see a little dimple in her chin, just like her mommy! And, it appears that she has her daddy's nose :) Those 4D ultrasounds are amazing!!! We are so thankful for the technology. So next we have to attempt picking out a name which will be a challenge. That is something that we are planning on keeping to ourselves until she arrives. This is all sooooo much fun!!!

feeling the baby move :)

So, now that I have identified what it feels like .... I guess the first movement that I felt was back on Dec. 18. It is still a bit inconsistent so it has been a little tough to narrow down. It feels like a flutter on my lower right side! I am so excited!! I get my next ultrasound on Tuesday! I cannot wait to hear that heartbeat again AND hopefully we will now the gender too!!! Stay tuned...
